Looking for Suitable Land for Photovoltaic Systems: Discover the Appropriate Areas

In a world increasingly oriented towards sustainable energy, photovoltaic systems represent one of the most efficient solutions for renewable energy production. However, choosing the right land is essential to ensure the success of a photovoltaic project, both in terms of efficiency and environmental respect.

If you own land that might be suitable for photovoltaic installations, we invite you to read the specific requirements to determine if your property is appropriate for this type of project. Current regulations, particularly the Suitable Areas for RES Decree, establish criteria for identifying suitable areas for photovoltaic installations.

Types of Land We’re Looking for Photovoltaic Systems

Below is a schematic list of the types of land we’re looking for, following the guidelines of the Suitable Areas for RES Decree:

  1. Agricultural Land:
  1. Industrial Areas
  • Industrial and commercial land: If you own land designated for industrial, artisanal, or commercial use, these are generally perfect for photovoltaic installations, as these areas are already intended for territorial transformations.
  • Former abandoned industrial areas: Abandoned or disused industrial areas are ideal for photovoltaic installations. These lands don’t involve agricultural land consumption and are perfect for recovery and redevelopment projects.
  1. Quarry, Mine, and Landfill Areas
  • Discontinued quarries and mines, unrecovered or abandoned or in environmental degradation conditions, as well as landfills: If you own areas that hosted quarries or mines that are now discontinued, as well as landfills, they can be repurposed for photovoltaic systems. These areas have already been altered and don’t present significant environmental impacts.

Areas Not Suitable for Photovoltaic Systems:

It’s important to emphasize that all the above-mentioned lands must not be affected by protected natural areas, parks, and biosphere reserves, as they are not suitable for photovoltaic installations (as per art. 7, paragraph 3 of Legislative Decree of June 21, 2024, which specifies that surfaces and areas included within the perimeter of assets protected under art. 10 and art. 136, paragraph 1, letters a) and b) of Legislative Decree January 22, 2004, n. 42 are considered unsuitable).

Why Sell or Lease Your Land for Photovoltaic Systems?

Investing in photovoltaic is not only a responsible choice for our planet’s future but can also be an economic opportunity for landowners. Photovoltaic systems can generate income through the sale of produced energy and allow productive and sustainable land use without damaging natural resources.

If your land is suitable, we can offer you a free evaluation and analyze available options together, including sale and Surface Rights. The implementation of photovoltaic systems is an opportunity to contribute to energy transition, respecting the environment and increasing your land’s value.
