Position Name: Spanish Interpreter

Location:  York

Description: Join the team at Ponessa Behavioral Health to provide interpretation services for mental health providers and clients. The primary function of the interpreter is to convert information from one spoken language into another. This is an independent contractor position and services are provided as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Convert concepts in the source language to equivalent concepts in the target language
• Speak and read, fluently in English and Spanish
• Relay the style and tone of the original language
• Render spoken messages accurately, quickly, and clearly
• Be sensitive to patients' personal circumstances, as well as maintain confidentiality and ethics.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in providing interpretation services
• Ability to prioritize and multitask
• Excellent listening, writing and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail

Education Requirements: Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent. Must be fluent in two languages (English and Spanish)

Clearances: (Prospective contractors must have the following clearances before servicing clients.) 1. PA State Child Abuse Clearance (Upon hire, before working with clients, and every year thereafter) 2. Pennsylvania State Criminal Background Check (Upon hire, before working with clients, and every year thereafter) 3. FBI Clearance
