We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Staff Accountant to join our finance team. In this entry-level position, you will assist in the day-to-day accounting operations, helping to ensure the accuracy and integrity of our financial records. You will have the opportunity to learn from experienced professionals while gaining hands-on experience in financial reporting and compliance. Functional Responsibilities:

• Accounts payable and subcontractor accounting
• Assistance with month end close
• Journal entries, cash receipts, data entry
• Expense reports processing and timesheet monitoring/management
• Identifies, researches, logs, documents, and works with the Accounting Manager to resolve any financial issues
• Performs accounting and reporting functions as assigned
• Supporting the preparation of the monthly corporate credit card reconciliations
• Documenting accounting practices and procedures
• Process Vendor Bills and ensuring all transactions are accurately posted to the correct general ledger accounts

Required Qualifications:

• 1-3 years accounting experience
• Excellent interpersonal and communications skills; verbally, written, face-to-face, and over the phone with partners and co-workers 
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Strong attention to detail, organizational and time management skills
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and practices
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
• US Citizenship

Desired Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• Experience with Jamis 
• Experience with accounting software 
• Government contracting industry experience
