Aspire Medical Staffing is currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse-Medical Surgical to join our team at the VA Northern Indiana Health Care System . As a Medical Surgical RN at Aspire Medical Staffing, you will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, providing high-quality care to patients in the medical surgical unit.

LOCATION:

• VA Northern Indiana Health Care System - Fort Wayne Campus 2121 Lake Avenue Fort Wayne, IN

HOURS OF OPERATION:

• VA Business Hours: VA business hours/hours of operation are 24 hours a day, 7 days a week including holidays.
• Work Schedule: Shift tours and hours will vary depending on the unit.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Medical Surgical Nursing: includes telemetry, orthopedics, medicine, and general surgery. RNs shall be responsible for patient assessments, medication administration, IV therapy, wound care, interdisciplinary team coordination, telemetry monitoring, admissions, and discharges, internal and external transfers, delegating to assistive personnel, electronic medical record documentation, patient transport, emergency response procedures, and provide vaccinations and swabbing for COVID-19.

Requirements

REQUIREMENTS:

• Graduation from a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate State-accrediting agency and accredited by one of the following accrediting bodies at the time the program was completed by the applicant: The accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
• A current license in at least one (1) state, territory, or commonwealth in the U.S. or the District of Columbia.
• Current certification in BLS by an American Health Association Vendor.
• A minimum of one (1) year of direct patient care experience within the last three (3) years
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
