Our client is currently seeking an experienced
Environmental Health and Safety Manager for their fast-growing company. In this position, you will be responsible for managing all environmental health and safety (EH&S) protocols at the facility. Your role includes ensuring compliance with regulatory and legal requirements, as well as company policies related to EH&S. Additionally, you will provide onsite safety training to prevent disruptions to company operations. You will also oversee sanitation and food safety processes, conducting audits, implementing corrective actions, providing training, and keeping the company informed about food safety issues.
Responsibilities: - Provide all corporate Environmental Health & Safety Policies and deliverables.
- Manage direct team of Supervisors and hourly EHS associates.
- Develop, train, plan and implement site environmental health, safety and security procedures/programs and ensures alignment with corporate EH&S Policies, goals and objectives.
- Perform as the onsite Food Safety Officer working with state and federal agencies and OSHA
- Work with Corporate EH&S to analyze regulatory changes, evaluate impacts on EH&S programs and the Company business strategy and drive adjustments to improve alignment and minimize the impact that compliance will have on the company.
- Communicate the EH&S structure and strategy to all departments.
- Modify any potential changes to the employee assembly layout, process or equipment for health and safety implications.
- Manage site environmental health and safety teams, including the Emergency Response Team (ERT).
- Lead the incident investigation process, conducting root cause analysis and identifying corrective actions.
- Ensure site compliance with governmental regulations pertaining to EH&S and handles all contact with OSHA and other appropriate government agencies.
- Ensure required regulatory and internal performance metric reports are submitted accurately and within established deadlines.
- Develop and oversee company training programs for employees in areas such as hazardous material handling, emergency response, industrial hygiene, life safety and physical security.
- Serve as point of contact with agency and governmental emergency personnel.
Requirements: - B.S. in Environmental/Health and Safety Science or B.S. Applied Sciences, Safety / Industrial Hygiene A degree is preferred / not required.
- 5 years + of Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) experience within an industrial food or beverage processing facility.
- Experience in supervisory and management roles.
- Capability to write reports, procedures and policies.
- Experience with transportation safety is a strong plus.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations, HACCP and industry best practices in process safety.
- Comprehensive knowledge of food safety regulations, laws, and best practices, encompassing guidelines from the FDA, USDA, as well as state and local regulatory bodies.
- Must be currently authorized to work in the USA without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
