Job Description

The Data Engineer Intern will work under the Data Engineering Director. You will work as part of a team to develop data platform and pipelines for several data sources using SQL and AWS 'big data' technologies with focusing on AI assisted database security methods.

Responsibilities:

• Work as part of a team to develop data pipeline solutions, including building new data ingestion process to data lake.
• Collaborate with data engineers and security analysts to identify potential vulnerabilities in database systems.
• Ingest and Process data from several sources in raw, structured, semi-structured, and unstructured format into Big Data ecosystem.
• Analyze large datasets to identify trends, threats, and opportunities for improving database security.
• Contribute to the development of automated tools for monitoring on suspicious database activity.
• Evaluate latest AI techniques applicable to database security.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a minimum of a Bachelor's degree program in CS, Engineering, Data Science or related field.
• Return to school in Fall 2026 to complete degree.
• Familiarity with database systems (e.g., Redshift, MySQL, or MongoDB).
• Knowledge with cybersecurity principles and common vulnerabilities (e.g., SQL injection, privilege escalation).
• Experience with Python and machine learning libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Experience in Python, PySpark, SQL, and knowledge of other computer languages.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets. The hourly pay range for this position is listed above. Within this range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors such as job-related skills, experience, and education.
