Billing Manager to join our team in Houston, TX. This full-time position reports directly to the Firm Administrator and will play a pivotal role in ensuring timely and accurate billing and optimization of cash flow.
We Need Your Drive and Precision Are you a detail-oriented professional with strong organization skills, ready to tackle a myriad of daily functions with precision and dedication? As our ideal candidate, you possess a solid background in accounts receivable including expertise in invoicing and collections. You are doer who will create invoices, handle customer inquiries, and own collections - managing the process from beginning to end. You will thrive in a dynamic, high-growth environment with flexible work options allowing for hybrid and/or remote work following a successful onboarding period.
Key Responsibilities - Manage the daily operations of the billing function, including invoice generation, distribution, follow-up, and collections to support revenue goals
- Develop and maintain efficient billing systems, processes, and workflows to minimize errors and maximize cash flow
- Generate accurate and timely billing reports for management, including key performance indicators and revenue forecasts
- Analyze AR data and aging reports to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement
- Own the collections process by actively tracking and pursuing delinquent accounts and negotiating payment arrangements
- Collaborate with the legal services team and the Director of Administration to ensure accurate and timely invoicing
- Maintain updated client account information in the billing system
- Oversee the training, performance management, and development of team resources
- Implement AR policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance
- Maintain a focus on delivering exceptional client service
Position Requirements - 3+ years of relevant billing management experience in a legal or professional services firm
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field
- Collections management experience
- Initiative in data analysis, involving identifying problems or questions that can be addressed with data and developing a structured approach to solving them
- Ability to adapt to new software and technologies
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills, proven ability to multi-task, prioritize, analyze, organize, attend to detail, and follow through
- Commitment to excellent client service
Software Application Experience - Microsoft Office 365: Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, SharePoint
- QuickBooks Online
- BigTime or similar billing platform(s)
- OpenInvoice
