Job Description

The Director of Curriculum and Instruction impacts students’ lives by:

• Embodying, advocating, and operationalizing the mission, vision, and direction of the school
• Raising student achievement by increasing the effectiveness of instruction
• Observing instruction and giving daily and weekly feedback to classroom teachers
• Working with the Principal to design each grade level’s standards-based curriculum
• Providing professional development for teachers on instructional delivery of school curriculum and data analysis and usage
• Collaborating with grade-level teams and individual teachers on curriculum integration, planning, and student assessment
• Coordinating multiple assessment programs
• Managing a team of teachers and teacher leaders
• Overseeing the daily schedule and providing leadership on the logistics of the school day
• Using leadership feedback and goal-setting to improve daily practice
• Participating in the life of the school, including student activities and events
• Taking on other tasks, as needed

• Have a BA or BS degree, Master’s degree preferred
• Possess Louisiana Teacher Certification (or equivalent in another state), Mentor Teacher certification preferred
• Have demonstrated success in coaching teachers, designing curriculum, and leading student achievement

Physical Requirements

• Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate a computer and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
• This is an in-person role
